I had very few side effects but it was a WEAK antidepressant. I don.t see how it could raise the mood on a FLY. After that I was put on Zoloft & it was awesome! totally kicked ASS!

Luvox should indeed be banned.. The withdrawals can be permanent; in my experience depression and social anxiety has gotten much worse and stayed like that for years.

Of course its a problem. In addition to being highly protein bound, Luvox inhibits the same enzyme responsible for the metabolism of meth so it will increase the levels of the amphetamine in the blood. Also, they both have serotonergic effects which increases the likelihood of serotonin syndrome.

I don’t know if this is a problem, but a friend of mine looked on Luvox and he saw that it raised the amphetamine level, so he now uses Luvox too boost the effect of amphetamine so that he can save money on using lover doses of the drug and get the same effect with a lover dose.

He says that one gram of speed is equivlant to four grams on Luvox :/

So what else can be taken for OCD instead of Luvox? My doc tells me it is the front line treatment for obsessive compulsive disorder but the side effects and interactions with other drugs bother me.

Fluvoxamine inhibits metabolism of risperidone/Rispadal, so is it possible to decrease the dosage of the long acting Rispadal-shot equivlant to the increased effect of the med. Because if you it’s possible to find out how to adjust the mix corectly, maybe you can make the long-acting shot last for two years or so due too longacting luvox?
